Services at Temple Beth El

Please join us on for Zoom for services You can also watch our services on YouTube

Our main worship service is on Friday evening, with occasional services on Saturday morning. We pray from the Reform prayer-book, Mishkan T’filah, but include readings from other sources, accompanied by a variety of musical styles. Our instruments include the guitar, piano, bass, drums and the euphonium. Some of our Shabbat services are meditative. We offer a Rockin’ Shabbat periodically. We encourage and thrive on participation. For the High Holy Days, we pray from the newly published Mishkan HaNefesh with music performed by our wonderful Temple Beth El Choir.

In order to protect vulnerable and immunocompromised cengregents, TBE follows all CDC Covid guidelines, with the addition of requiring attendees to wear masks during services and while in the building. Thank you for your support in this matter.

Shabbat

SHABBAT IS THE CENTRE OF OUR SYNAGOGUE’S LIFE

Our services use both English and Hebrew and follow the Reform Jewish prayer book, Mishkan T'Filah  Most services are led by our Rabbi, and we also have lay members who share in prayer leading.

Our musicians – Morris Maduro, Jory Yarmoff, Jordan Lund, Eric Sbar, Adam Perlstein, Elliot Levine - contribute greatly to our services, whether creative or traditional. They help to make our prayers refreshing, reflective and restorative.

Friday evening – Shabbat 7:00

‘On the seventh day God rested’ and so we begin our rest by welcoming Shabbat with the lighting of the candles and community prayer.

On the First Friday of the month Family Services begin at 6:30 when the children from our religion school  and many families participate.

Rockin’ Shabbat, when our popular band enhances our worship with their creative style of music, happens occasionally

Saturday morning 10:00: Occasionally we have a Saturday Morning service…

TBE Online

Temple Beth El Online - More than a building

Beginning in 2020 as a response to the challenges of the pandemic, volunteers from the congregation came together to build an audio-video streaming system to continue providing an interactive service to members who could not attend in person due to restrictions. Since then, we have live-streamed all of our Shabbat and Holiday services both on Zoom and to our YouTube channel.

You can watch services and events on YouTube. For a more frequent and up to date information subscribe to our email list or join our Facebook group.
