TBE Youth Education (PreK-10th Grade)

At Temple Beth El, we offer Youth Education for grades Pre-K through Confirmation (10th or 11th grade). We believe in experiential education complimented by classroom learning that endeavors to reach each individual where they are at. With a strong focus on social emotional learning, we use classroom time, Jewish experiences, and t'filah as a way to check in with our students and help them reflect on their lives, their Jewish identity, and how Judaism relates to their lives.

We consistently revisit our curriculum and center our community in this process. For example, this year, our curriculum for TBE Youth Education addresses these 3 questions:

  • How might we help children feel proud of being Jewish?
  • How might we encourage students' curiosity about things Jewish?
  • How might we make Judaism real for the students?

While our educational opportunities address more than these 3 questions, these questions center the concerns and the goals of our community as we continue to tinker our program throughout the year in order to better serve our community.
